BMCLI Getting Started and bounded discovery

Reference version: BMCLI 1.6.3. Command names, parameters and machine-readable fields retain their source spelling.

Run bmcli without arguments for the short first-use sequence: version, doctor, channel enumerate, bench init, bench show, then bench validate. Initialize the project intent first; add a physical --channel=<SN/port|UID/port> only after enumeration confirms a stable identity. A numeric enumeration index such as --channel=0 is not accepted in persisted Bench configuration.

Automation that only needs categories should use:

Terminal window
bmcli help --summary --format=json

This bounded document omits the full command array. The existing bmcli help --format=json root contract remains the complete registry. Unknown categories return nonzero and may include did_you_mean plus help_command; BMCLI never executes the suggested command automatically.

Source of truth: BMCLI 1.6.3 repository documentation. Run bmcli help <category> <action> --format=json for the exact contract of the installed version.
